A TOC Workshop

On June 3–5, a ‘TOC Workshop’, joint kmbs and Apple Consulting program was held, where Eli Schragenheim, Director of Goldratt Schools and practicing TOC consultant, took part. During three days of intensive studies, Eli revealed TOC solutions in management of production, distribution and logistics.

The first day was devoted to the subject ‘How to Become Reliable and Fast in Production to Order’. Eli Schragenheim was sharing the most advanced ideas and procedures for companies that manufacture their production to order. Simple and efficient solutions were conveyed clearly and intelligibly; using a complex production simulator it was shown how all the proposed solution work.

The second day seminar was helpful for manufacturing companies that produce goods for storage or those that, after being purchased, stay for some time at the client’s warehouse: that of a branch, distributor, retailer, etc. Managers of leading Ukrainian companies found out about new means of providing a real support to making operational decisions aimed at ensuring an exceptional sale availability of the goods.

Now, on the last day the participants got an answer to a question: how to increase stock turnover, at the same time increasing availability of the whole line of the product. Eli offered the most up-to-date and simple solutions of how to ensure efficient management of a distribution company and to reach almost 100% product availability combined with reducing of stock–that is, to essentially increase level of turnover.

In the course of the Eli Schragenheim’s master class each of the proposed TOC solutions was supported by appropriate software, Symphony, that is focusing managers’ attention on what is really important at the moment. Active discussions and consultations with Eli Schragenheim allowed the managers to define constraints in their businesses and to start developing ways of implementation of TOC into their companies’ activities.
