International Study Tour

International Study tour is a very important part of the MBA program, which consists of studying in the business school of the host country and visiting world's best companies and meeting their best managers.
kmbs MBA participants has already been to USA, China and Singapore.

On July 29, 2006 top-managers of 51 Ukrainian companies went on the international study tour to China and Singapore, organized by Kyiv-Mohyla Business School [kmbs] for the participants of its EMBA programs. Several Presidents' MBA program participants and kmbs EMBA alumni joined the tour group.

The tour has the following objectives set:
- To immerse EMBA participants in absolutely different culture, to keep open mind to everything seen and heard; give them an opportunity to look at their businesses from a different angle;
- To understand what economic and business processes are taking place in Asia, assess their meaning to Ukraine and Ukrainian business in perspective of the nearest 5-10 years, given that part of the world is less known to Ukrainian business community;
- To familiarize Ukrainian business owners and CEOs with business strategies of actively developing companies in Asia.

The tour is going through such cities as Beijing, Shanghai, and Singapore, while overall in the course of the tour the participants will visit 2 companies in China and 5 companies, 2 business-associations, and 2 government institutions in Singapore. The participants will also attend seminars on peculiarities of doing business in Asian markets, at China Europe Business School [CEIBS] and Singapore National Technical University.

Nothing would take an innovator out of the box better than look from a different view point. Especially from business-school considered to be the best worldwide!

kmbs' first International Study Tour for our Executive MBAs [evening&weekend and modular formats] was held in 2004 at Kellogg School of Management* [Chicago, USA], which is based in Northwestern University.

In the summer of 2005 kmbs organized International Study Course "Managing Innovations". It featured 2 continents [Europe, US] and 3 places [Munich, Chicago, Silicon Valley]. It continued 15 days, 50% of time is devoted to studying in business school while another 50% to in-company visits.

In 2005 our Executive MBA Program participants had unique opportunity to visit 4 out of 20 The Most Innovative Companies according to BusinessWeek : IBM, Google, Intel and BMW.

Moreover in 2005 marketing guru Philip Kotler delivered a class "Using Lateral Marketing to Create Innovative Ideas", in 2004 he spoke about “Ten Marketing Sins” [this is his very last book, 2004].

Besides classes by Kellogg's professors and companies' managers, there were visits to such companies as Ford, Harley Davidson , Kraft, Miller Brewing , Motorola Rockwell Automation Inc ., Siemens, Winzeler Gear, Xerox.

International Study Tour 2006 will be also a joint project of kmbs and CTIM.
