kmbs-knowledge

Plus we have our own signature - kmbs-knowledge . It is not a kmbs' department, neither it has physical location or a leader. In a way, all of us who work at kmbs are a part of it, but especially our professors. kmbs-knowledge is the research and knowledge generation hub in the area of business. It is a cumulative band of several elements:

Case studies

Many of the courses we teach build on case studies written by kmbs on companies operating in Ukraine. In 2001, according to CEUME [the Consortium for the Enhancement of Ukrainian Management Education], an independent USAID-funded institution, 7 of 10 most popular case studies in Ukraine were brewed at kmbs.

A class at kmbs , which involves a case study, usually flows into a Q&A session and is often topped with an insightful guest speaker talk. The protagonist of the case study or a senior manager of the company in focus comes in to share his/her insights into to the problem and the actual applied solutions.

Research & international conferences

In March 2003, kmbs conducted a unique study of Ukrainian labor market regulation. Our faculty members and associates are headhunted as keynote speakers for numerous conferences. In July 2003, kmbs organized its first international conference. The International Conference on Entrepreneurship called on entrepreneurship, managerial leadership and business ethics in transition economies.

Consulting

We never thought consulting was our element. Though often individuals and organizations that went through our classroom-bound learning request us to walk the path of changes with them. We help to enhance both strategic and operational effectiveness, stimulate the team's creativity and implement innovative and differentiated ideas. We advise companies on how to win the war for top talent, especially among generations X and Y. :-]

Information Resources Center

We provide informational support for participants of all our courses. The Information Resources Center hosts a cherry-picked collection of about 2,000 book titles. At present, 70% of books are in English, 20% - in Ukrainian and 10% - in Russian. kmbs clients have free access to on-line resources, such as EBSCO, an electronic archive of over 2,700 world's leading publications, including The Economist , Harvard Business Review , Business Week, McKinsey Quarterly and others.

Each Friday we release a “management e-update”, a synopsis of recent articles from groovy business publications. “management e-update” is a simple way you can learn more about the kind of ideas that float at kmbs . You can review archive issues and subscribe free of charge to the update in the “Business Studio journal” section of this site.
